NUMERICAL RELAY
The distinction between digital and numerical relay rests on points of fine technical detail, and is rarely found in areas other than Protection. They can be viewed as natural developments of digital relays as a result of advances in technology. Typically, they use a specialized digital signal processor (DSP) as the computational hardware, together with the associated software tools. The input analogue signals are converted into a digital representation and processed according to the appropriate mathematical algorithm. Processing is carried out using a specialized microprocessor that is optimized for signal processing applications, known as a digital signal processor or DSP for short. Digital processing of signals in real time requires a very high power microprocessor. |
|
In our numeric relays are true RMS measurements and protection algorithm. Our relays meets new functional requirements of IEC standards like such as IEC -60255-151 and IEC-60255-127. Megawin has developed a wide range of Numeric relays. |

ELECTRO MECHANICAL RELAY
Electromechanical relays can be classified into several types as follows,
Our manufacturing range of electromechanical relays types are attracted armature relays and Induction disc relays. These electromagnetic relays use the induction principle discovered by Galileo Ferraris in the late 19th century. The magnetic system in induction disc over current relays is designed to detect over currents in a power system and operate with a pre-determined time delay when certain over current limits have been reached. |
|
In order to operate, the magnertic system in the relays produces torque that acts on a metal disc to make contact, according to the following basic current/torque equation where
These electromechanical relays can be used without auxiliary supply, dust free environment conditions, long life cycles compare to static and numeric relays. |

VACUUM INTERRUPTER
Rating: |
General Information:
It is an advanced and reliable working process. 100% imported raw materials like Copper-Chromium contact materials are used. Metal bellows with long life time is used to ensure 30,000 operations of the vacuum interrupter. The contact in vacuum are not subjected to impurities or contamination on their surface.
Special treatments are used, so that the contacts have good surface quality and high conductivity. These features increases the dielectric strength which is inline with the IEC standards. All these features have contributed to a low inside resistance of the interrupters ranging from 10 to 15 micro ohms. The result is, low temperature rise during the long operation of the interrupters.
One-shot brazing technology is used to achieve reliable braze joints. The brazing seam is not vulnerable to ageing and hence increases the quality and life time of then interrupter. This technology has lower leakages than those brazed with conventional technology. High vacuum tightness is therefore ensured over the entire life span of the vacuum interrupters.
Advantage
- Axial magnetic field.
- Single shot brazing technology.
- High short-circuit breaking currents
- High dielectric performance
- Very low chopping currents
- Minimal contact resistance
- Negligible contact erosion
- Suitable for auto-reclosing cycles (O-0.3s-CO-15s-CO-15s-CO-15s-CO) for vacuum circuit breakers and (O-0.3s-CO-2s-CO-2s-CO-5s-CO) for pole mounted reclosers.
Application
- Circuit breaker - Primary distribution - Secondary distribution
- Contactors
- Reclosers
- Special high speed switches
- Railway application
